West Ham United hijack Everton move to sign experienced Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata, according to reports.
The Hammers could be set to get some revenge on Everton after the summer transfer fiasco that saw us lose out on Amadou Onana to the Merseyside club.

Moyes has since strengthened his centre-forward ranks by signing Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo, but the Hammers are still short up front, with Michail Antonio having regressed badly over the past 12 months.
Hopefully the 32-year-old will be sold and Moyes manages to bring a new striker through the door. And it seems as though the Hammers could be set to get our own back on Everton in the race for one centre-forward in particular…
West Ham to hijack Everton move for Zapata
According to a report from The Daily Mail, the Hammers have now entered talks with the 31-year-old about a potential January transfer.
Frank Lampard wants to bring him to Goodison Park but the Colombian allegedly would prefer a move to London.
So it seems as though West Ham are in pole position to sign Zapata.
The 31-year-old striker, described as ‘deadly’ by talkSPORT, will be a superb addition for whichever club wins the race for his signature.
Zapata was in fine form in Italy last season, racking up 13 goals and seven assists in 32 games for Atalanta. He also boasts a decent career record of 154 goals in 403 games (Transfermarkt).
The South American hitman seems to possess all of the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.
Zapata stands at 6ft 2in tall, and possesses an impressive build and physique. He is strong as an ox and has pace in abundance.
The Colombian has experienced numerous problems with injury though. He suffered an adductor injury during the second half of last season and missed around three months of action.
That being said, Zapata seems to be over those problems now.
One thing I will say is that £25 million seems like an awful lot of money to be paying for a striker who will be 32 in March.
For the here and now though, he’d be a great addition for us. And if West Ham do manage to hijack the Everton move to sign Duvan Zapata, I think we’ll be in a great position to avoid relegation this season.
