Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look out for an established central midfielder in January.

Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice have forged a wonderful partnership in the middle of the park.

David Moyes has little in reserve at the London Stadium, however.

Mark Noble just isn’t good enough anymore to be playing regularly in the Premier League.

Calcio Mercato claims that West Ham have already made an offer to sign Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino. It is unclear as to how much the Hammers have offered, however.

The 41-capped Uruguay international has fallen out of favour with Antonio Conte at the San Siro this season.

Vecino is still a top class player, however, and his playing style is quintessentially South American.

He is a tenacious tackler and plays with real energy and intensity. In other words, the 29-year-old is perfectly suited to the robust nature of the Premier League.

Matias Vecino can play in the deep-lying central midfield role, in a more orthodox central position or even as a number 10.

The midfielder will be out of contract with Inter in the summer of 2022. So West Ham might just be able to pick him up for a bargain fee in January.

If we can secure the services of Vecino for a reasonable price, he will be a very good addition for the Hammers next month.
