A new report claims West Ham have ex Man City man Tosin Adarabioyo lined up as their first signing of the summer window.

It is clear West Ham need to sign at least one new centre-back in the summer.

Thilo Kehrer has left, Angelo Ogbonna is in the twilight of his Hammers career, Kurt Zouma has longstanding knee issues which prevent him playing games close together and there are doubts over Nayef Aguerd’s consistency and future.

West Ham were linked with a host of centre-backs in the January window including Trevoh Chalobah.

David Moyes and technical director Tim Steidten are well aware they must look to try and bring in players who meet homegrown player status rules.

West Ham have Adarabioyo lined up as first summer signing

Well according to a new report they have someone in mind when the next window opens.

Because West Ham have ex Man City man Tosin Adarabioyo lined up as their first summer signing.

That’s according to Italian website CalcioMercato.

The report claims West Ham are battling AC Milan to sign the Fulham defender, who came through the ranks at Manchester City.

But even the top Italian clubs simply cannot compete with Premier League sides when it comes to the finances on offer.

Adarabioyo is one of the top-rated defenders in the top flight over the last few seasons.

And he will be available on a free transfer, making him an even more attractive proposition.

They say there is no smoke without fire and this is not the first time the Hammers have been linked with the 6ft 5in 26-year-old Adarabioyo.

90min recently claimed the Hammers want to sign Fulham defender Adarabioyo, who was also linked with a move from west to east London in the summer.

He was also said to be on the radar of Bayern Munich. But they signed Eric Dier instead.

Competition is sure to be fierce given his refusal to sign a new deal with Fulham.

But if West Ham can secure European football again then it might make luring him across the capital a touch easier.
