Clarets boss Sean Dyche brought the 25-year-old to Turf Moor from Bristol City in January 2020 for around £9 million (BBC).

Hammers manager David Moyes will undoubtedly be looking to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek have forged a wonderful partnership in the middle of the park.

Moyes has little in reserve to call upon, however.

West Ham eyeing summer swoop for Burnley ace Josh Brownhill?

TEAMtalk claims that the Hammers could look to solve their central midfield deficiencies by signing the Clarets star in the summer.

The 25-year-old is a central midfielder by trade. He can also operate on the right of midfield, however.

Brownhill is somewhat of an all action midfielder.

In 23 Premier League appearances for Burnley this season the former Bristol City man has averaged 1.4 tackles, 2.4 interceptions and 1.1 clearances per game. He has averaged 36.3 passes per match with a completion rate of 79.7% (Who Scored).

Brownhill is dynamic, energetic and would add so much to West Ham’s midfield. He would certainly provide strong competition for Soucek and Rice.

Whether the Hammers can beat the likes of Aston Villa and Wolves to Brownhill’s signature, however, remains to be seen.

And more to the point, it is unclear as to whether Burnley will actually be prepared to sell the 25-year-old this summer.
