ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham ace Fabian Balbuena has already received multiple offers from clubs from Brazil and Spain, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (Wednesday March 3rd).
The 29-year-old joined the Hammers from Corinthians in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £3.5 million (Evening Standard).
Portuguese transfer expert Pedro Almeida recently suggested that Balbuena could return to Brazil at the end of the season.
The 15-capped Paraguay international is out of contract at the London Stadium in the summer.
As things stand, his future is very much up in the air.
ExWHUemployee provides Fabian Balbuena update
The West Ham defender is probably fifth choice centre-back under David Moyes at the moment.
ExWHUemployee claimed that the 29-year-old has already received offers from numerous clubs, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast (Wednesday March 3rd):
“Fabian Balbuena is still yet to sign a new contract and has had a number of offers submitted to him including one from Brazil and I think one or two from Spain. I don’t think we have made a complete decision on it as yet.”
Considering our strength in depth in the centre-back department, moving Balbuena on this summer is probably the right call.
He will be 30 before the start of next season. And let’s be honest, the Paraguayan is a bang average defender at best.
Balbuena has performed admirably this season. His skill-set is very limited, however.
And hopefully the likes of Frederik Alves, Jamal Baptiste and Aji Alese will have a better chance of coming through if the General does leave the London Stadium at the end of the season.
