Report: West Ham could sign two-time league winner Abdou Diallo for £21 million before Nottingham Forest game

West Ham United are now pushing ahead with a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Abdou Diallo this summer.

That’s according to a report from Foot Mercato who claim that PSG could sell the 26-year-old to the Hammers for somewhere around €20-25 million (£17-21 million).

West Ham boss David Moyes has been linked with a move to sign the 17-capped Senegal international since January (Media Foot).

And we believe he’d be a great addition for the Hammers.

Moyes now has somewhat of a central defensive injury crisis on his hands at the London Stadium. Nayef Aguerd could be out for around two months whilst Angelo Ogbonna is nowhere near fully match fit.

And Moyes seemingly has someone in mind to really help bolster his defensive ranks…

West Ham eyeing Abdou Diallo swoop

Foot Mercato claims that the Hammers could sign the 26-year-old PSG for around £21 million this summer.

That’s very good value indeed in our book and we believe Moyes should not hesitate to bring him to the London Stadium.

Diallo is a two time Ligue 1 winner and a two time Coupe de France champion.

We think that the 26-year-old would be a very smart addition indeed for West Ham for just £21 million, considering the fact that he can play in both the left-back and centre-back positions.

Diallo made 12 appearances for PSG last season. During those outings, the 26-year-old averaged 2.1 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 1.1 clearances per match.

He made an average of 58.7 passes per game and recorded a completion rate of 88.8% (Who Scored).

Diallo is absolutely rapid. In two Champions League games for PSG last season he clocked speeds of 30.3 km/h (UEFA).

He is also very apt at winning back possession for his team and averaged 7.5 ball recoveries per game in the Champions League last season (UEFA).

The PSG ace seems to have everything West Ham need

His ability to play in both the centre-back and left-back positions is exactly what we need right now.

And if Moyes brings Abdou Diallo to the London Stadium for £21 million this summer, we think that will be fabulous business for the club.
