That’s after the Hammers allegedly made a £14 million bid for the 29-year-old in the summer (talkSPORT).
David Moyes has plenty of centre-back options at his disposal at the London Stadium.
Fabian Balbuena and Issa Diop face uncertain futures in East London, however.
And if either of those names were to leave West Ham, we would obviously have to sign a new centre-back.
The problem for the Hammers is that we should be prioritising the signings of two new centre-forwards, a central midfielder and a left-back / left wing-back.
Money may be tight at the London Stadium this summer. So Moyes will have to be thrifty in his player recruitment.

Calcio Mercato.it claims that West Ham are in the race to sign Napoli centre-back Nikola Maksimovic in the summer and it won’t cost us a penny.
The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and with talks regarding a new deal having reached a stalemate, it seems as though he will walk away from Napoli for absolutely nothing in six months time.
The 25-capped Serbia international would be a solid addition for West Ham. Especially for free!
In 10 league outings for Napoli this season, Maksimovic has averaged 0.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 2.1 clearances per game. He has also won an average of 2.2 aerial duals per match (Who Scored).
The 29-year-old is a grizzly, seasoned defender and picking him up on a free transfer this summer seems like an absolute no brainer for the Hammers.
