ExWHUemployee has suggested that Jesse Lingard could be in line for the false nine role as West Ham United’s centre-forward woes continue to get worse.

Hammers boss David Moyes chose not to sign a new striker in January.
Whether that was his decision or the board’s is open for debate.
But whoever is to blame, it is clear to see that our failure to bolster our centre-forward ranks last month was a kamikaze move.

Michail Antonio missed last night’s FA Cup tie with Manchester United whilst Andriy Yarmolenko was forced off with ligament damage at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile. Mipo Odubeko seems to be miles off the level needed to be playing regular Premier League football.
David Moyes doesn’t have many options aside from signing a free agent.

ExWHUemployee thinks Jesse Lingard could be an option as a false nine
Perhaps the 28-year-old Manchester United loanee could be utilised up front.
ExWHUemployee suggested that he thinks the 24-capped England international could be next in line to be trialled in the false nine position:
Hammers News View:
Jesse Lingard moved to the London Stadium on loan from Manchester United last month.
The 28-year-old is a top class player. And he undoubtedly has what it takes to flourish in the false nine role.
Lingard has incredible energy, plenty of pace and is a very good finisher.
His ability to drop deep and link up play between midfield and attack makes him tailor made for the false nine role.
With Antonio struggling for fitness and Yarmolenko a big doubt for next week’s game against Sheffield United, Jesse Lingard could very well be the answer for David Moyes.
We shall have to wait and see what the Scot is planning, however.
