The Brazilian left the London Stadium to link up with Porto on a season long loan this morning.
And we are now incredibly light in the left wing department.
The Evening Standard reckon that David Moyes could move to address that issue by signing Brentford star Said Benrahma before next week’s deadline.
The Algeria international was one of the standout players in the Championship last season. And he would be an excellent addition for the Hammers.
Stats
The 25-year-old racked up an incredible 17 goals and nine assists in 45 league games for the Bees (Who Scored).
In those outings, he averaged 3.9 shots, 2.2 key passes and three dribbles per game (Who Scored).
The problem for West Ham is that Brentford are demanding around £25 million for the Algerian ace (The Express).
Moyes’s priority will undoubtedly be to bolster his central defensive and central midfield ranks.
But if there is any kind of cash left over, we should really be making a strong play to sign Benrahma.
The 25-year-old has proven quality, and he really would be a superb signing for West Ham. Perhaps Brentford will have to lower their demands, however, if we are to have any chance whatsoever of bringing the Algerian to the London Stadium before next week’s deadline.
