According to a report from Voetbal International, West Ham and Tottenham will now have to pay €20 million (£17 million) if they want to sign Hellas Verona midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web claimed last week that the 23-year-old could be up for grabs for just £12.7 million.

That all seems to have changed, however, with the Hammers and Spurs allegedly interested in the Moroccan.

Both West Ham and Tottenham have plenty of money to spend, and Hellas Verona obviously realise that.

Voetbal International claims the Serie A side have raised Amrabat’s asking price to £17 million.

But in truth, that would actually still represent decent value for money.

West Ham are in desperate need of more fight, tenacity and dynamism in the middle of the park, and that is exactly what the 23-year-old would bring.

Tottenham, meanwhile, already have plenty of options in the middle of the park, so Amrabat would surely only be used as a back-up, if he did indeed move to north London.

The Hellas Verona ace is a solid all-round player. He would probably be better suited at West Ham than he would Tottenham. He would certainly get more game-time in east London.

And for £17 million, he could be a real bargain for the Hammers.
