West Ham United and Arsenal are set to battle it out for the signature of Joachim Andersen this summer, according to a report from The Mirror.
The 24-year-old centre-back is currently on loan with Fulham and he has impressed in the Premier League this season.
West Ham and Arsenal will both be looking to bolster their respective central defensive departments this summer.
And it seems as though David Moyes and Mikel Arteta could be chasing the same player.
West Ham and Arsenal plotting Joachim Andersen swoop
The Mirror claims that the Lyon loanee is a target for both London clubs.
Andersen, who earns £55k-a-week (Salary Sport), has made 27 Premier League appearances for Fulham this season.
During those outings, the Denmark international has averaged 0.9 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 5.1 clearances per game. He has also won an average of 3.2 aerial duals per match (Who Scored).
Anderson has averaged 61.3 passes per game during those appearances and has recorded a mightily impressive 81.2% completion rate (Who Scored).
He was made the Fulham captain after just a few games for the West London outfit. And that says all you need to know about Andersen’s character.
The towering Dane could be available for around £25 million this summer (Metro).
The Lyon ace would be a fine addition for either West Ham or Arsenal.
Considering the fact that the Hammers are better placed than the Gunners to qualify for Europe next season, we might just hold the upper hand on out London rivals in the race for Andersen’s signature.
David Moyes must go all out for the Dane. For £25 million, he would be a superb signing for West Ham.
