David Moyes failed to sign a new striker for West Ham United in January.

We all know that the Scot was not adequately backed by the board to sign any of his so-called top transfer targets.
It is clear that Moyes could have signed a Sullivan special, someone on loan or on a free transfer, however.
It has to be said, surely somebody, anybody would have been better than nobody at all.

David Moyes decision now proving costly
With Michail Antonio having been missing for a couple of weeks in February and now since the start of April, the West Ham manager’s decision not to strengthen his front-line in January seems like a baffling one.
Moyes clearly has a long-term vision and that’s fine. But sometimes it’s a case of needs must.
The Scot’s long-term vision has cost us dearly in the short-term and could end up causing us to miss out on the once in a lifetime opportunity of finishing inside the top three or four.
Now, we are not for minute suggesting that David Moyes has done a bad job at West Ham.
In fact, he has done an excellent job.
And standing up to David Sullivan by not taking whoever was offered to him in January is actually admirable.
That decision may well end up costing us dearly, however.

David Moyes has worked wonders but one big mistake has been made
Surely the correct decision would have been to bring someone in on a short-term deal. Someone like Josh King or Diego Costa.
Or a loan deal for someone like Hee-Chan Hwang from RB Leipzig.
David Moyes has worked wonders during his second stint in charge at the London Stadium.
The Scot has got so many things right. And he deserves all the credit in the world for that.
Sticking to his principles with a long-term vision in mind whilst adversely affecting our short-term goals, however, was the wrong one.
Let’s hope that we manage to muddle through between now and May and still qualify for Europe.
Our chances of doing that now seem bleak, however.
Moyes’s failure to sign a striker is one small criticism we have of him. It could end up having huge consequences, however.
