Manchester City want to sign West Ham United ace Declan Rice this summer according to a report from The Times.

The 22-year-old is the most important figure at the London Stadium and is undoubtedly our prized asset.
David Moyes will surely fight tooth and nail to keep Rice at West Ham.
The Times reckon that Manchester City could test the Hammers owners’ resolve, however, by making a bid for the England international in the summer.

When Chelsea were recently linked with the 22-year-old, Hammers boss David Moyes warned that it would take ‘Bank of England money’ to prise him away from the London Stadium (Evening Standard).
In fact, Moyes said he wouldn’t even accept £100 million for the former Chelsea academy graduate (Evening Standard).

Man City do have immense wealth of course. So if they really do want Rice, it will be incredibly hard to keep him at West Ham.
The 22-year-old is so incredibly important for the Hammers, however.
The West Ham board really need to kick their heels in and keep Dec at all costs.
Selling him would undoubtedly be a backwards step.

The problem for West Ham will be two-fold. Firstly, if Man City make an offer that they quite simply can’t refuse. Secondly, if Rice himself demands to leave the London Stadium.
Let’s just hope that neither of those things happen this summer!
