Thierry Henry singled out Tomas Soucek as a standout player for West Ham United, when speaking on Sky Sports Monday Night Football last night (May 3rd, 08:05pm).
The 26-year-old midfielder joined the Hammers on loan from Slavia Prague in January 2020.
Soucek made an instant impact at the London Stadium.
David Moyes quickly made the Czech Republic international’s loan move permanent, sealing a £15 million deal to sign him in July last year (Daily Mail).
Soucek has proven to be a key player for West Ham. Not only is he a huge asset defensively but he is also a real threat in the final third with 12 goals to his name in 50 games for the Hammers.
Thierry Henry a huge Tomas Soucek fan
The big Czech ace put in a top class display again last night away at Burnley. Despite giving away a penalty, he made a whole host of crucial interceptions, clearances and blocks. He also won an incredible 17 aerial duels! (Who Scored).
Henry described Soucek as ‘brilliant’ when speaking on Sky Sports MNF last night:
“Soucek, he has been brilliant. Stopping counters, putting his head on everything, scoring a lot of goals. Being effieincet in both boxes. That is a great sign.”
Soucek is hugely popular in East London. It seems as though he has his admirers outside of the London Stadium as well, however.
He must be doing something right if he has caught the eye of Henry.
