Report makes Samuel Chukwueze claim as David Moyes tries to bring absolutely rapid forward to West Ham

West Ham United have reportedly made initial contact to sign Samuel Chukwueze this summer.

24-year-old Villarreal striker Samuel Chukwueze is firmly on the radar of West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window according to Spanish publication Fichajes.net.

Chukwueze is someone who West Ham have been linked with for years now, and most recently just last month.

Hammers boss David Moyes needs to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium this summer. Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings have struggled to fit into the Scot’s system.

Samuel Chukwueze a target for West Ham

Fichajes.net claim that the Nigeria International is on the Hammers’ radar.

This exactly the kind of signing Moyes should be making as far as I’m concerned. We are a side desperately devoid of pace and as a result, it makes us fairly easy and predictable to play against.

He is one of the quickest forwards on the planet, and would add real penetration to West Ham’s play in the final third.

Chukwueze is not an orthodox centre-forward. He can play anywhere along the front-line, and is a frighteningly exciting young talent.

Aside from blistering pace, he has incredible movement and is a defender’s nightmare. He bagged 13 goals and 11 assists in 49 games for Villarreal this season (Transfermarkt). He is seemingly ideally suited to the intense speed of Premier League football.

The 24-year-old could be available for around £36 million this summer. That sounds like exceptional value for the Hammers to me.

And if West Ham sign Samuel Chukwueze in the summer transfer window, we will be a much more dangerous side going forward next season and beyond.
