West Ham striker Michail Antonio could be set to make a surprise request this summer.

According to a report from The Guardian, 33-year-old West Ham attacker Michail Antonio is keen to leave the London Stadium.

In fact, it is suggested that he is actively pushing to leave the Hammers.

Antonio caused a real stir a couple of days ago when he suggested that his teammate Gianluca Scamacca is not suited to playing in a David Moyes side.

The Jamaica international, who earns £85k-a-week (Spotrac), angered the majority of West Ham fans with those comments. It really was a bizarre thing to come out with leading up to our biggest and most important game in 17 years.

And it now seems that the writing could be on the wall for Antonio at the London Stadium…

The Guardian reckon that the experienced forward could push for an exit from the Hammers when the summer transfer window opens.

David Moyes will surely be open to granting him his wish, not only because of his bizarre comments earlier this week but due to the fact that he is well past his best now and an upgrade on Antonio is required, if we are to make genuine progress as a club.

Micky has been a fine servant for West Ham, since moving to Upton Park from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2015.

However, the 33-year-old clearly has huge limitations, and if the Hammers are to evolve into more of a possession based side, he won’t actually have much to offer us.

Michail Antonio will be intrinsically linked with West Ham United, wherever he moves on to next.

It just seems to me like the timing is perfect now for Micky and the Hammers to go their separate ways.
