West Ham United are ready to make a £35 million bid for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard, according to a report from the Daily Star.

The Hammers cannot afford not to bring in a new striker before the end of the transfer window.

Sebastien Haller left the London Stadium to join Ajax more than two weeks ago.

David Moyes has been searching frantically for a new striker. As things stand, however, West Ham appear to be nowhere near actually signing anyone.

West Ham pushing hard for Odsonne Edouard

The Celtic hitman appears to be on the Hammers’ radar.

The Daily Star claims that West Ham are trying to sign the £35 million-rated Hoops striker.

The 23-year-old allegedly would prefer a move to Tottenham or Arsenal, however.

The Hammers really should be going all out to prise Edouard away from Parkhead.

The Daily Star reckon Neil Lennon won’t entertain offers below £35 million for the Frenchman. He really does have everything you want in a modern day striker, however, and would be worth his weight in gold for West Ham.

The 22-year-old joined Celtic from Paris Saint-Germain for around £9 million in the summer of 2018. Edouard has gone on to rack up 72 goals and 35 assists in 151 games for Neil Lennon’s Hoops side (Transfermarkt).

He is clearly a top, top talent.

If we’re being honest, however, this just reeks of yet another ‘we tried’ from the owners.

Let’s hope we’re wrong eh?
