The 28-year-old joined the Hammers on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer of 2018.

Fredericks failed to impress at the London Stadium, however. He certainly hasn’t reached the levels that were expected of him.

The former Fulham man possesses blistering pace, but he just doesn’t seem to have the confidence to use it to his advantage. In addition to that, the 28-year-old is often found wanting defensively.

Fredericks actually began this season in fine form before suffering an unfortunate injury in September.

Since then, West Ham have signed Vladimir Coufal, and the Czech has been an instant hit at the London Stadium.

Fredericks now has his work cut out if he is to force his way back into David Moyes’s starting line-up.

And Football.London claims that West Ham could decide to move the 28-year-old on in January, with just 18 months remaining on his current deal.

The problem in selling Fredericks will be that Coufal would have just Ben Johnson as competition. The youngster is a great talent but is arguably not yet ready for regular Premier League action.

In addition to that, the 28-year-old was in good form this season before his injury, as mentioned earlier. So it does seem too early to give up on him.

Although keeping hold of Fredericks past January does increase the risk of his value diminishing rapidly. So there are two sides to the argument.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Fredericks at the London Stadium.
