Manchester United would still have to bid at least £100 million if they want to sign Dec of course. So that is certainly in our favour, because it is highly debatable that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to spend that kind of money on a DM.

Rice is clearly loving life at the London Stadium as well. Signing Jesse Lingard in the summer would surely help us keep the 22-year-old too.

Things like that will be key. We absolutely have to show Dec that we are ready to match his ambition. And if the Hammers owners do that, we should be just fine.
