Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium. this summer.
Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice have forged arguably the best pivot in the Premier League over the past 12 months.
West Ham’s strength in depth in the middle of the park is incredibly poor, however.
David Moyes has only Mark Noble to call upon in reserve.
West Ham leading Aaron Ramsey chase?
Calcio Mercato claimed last week that the Scot wants to bring Juventus star Aaron Ramsey to East London in order to boost his central midfield options.
And the Hammers are now in pole position to sign the 30-year-old former Arsenal man according to a report from Calcio Mercato.
The 61-capped Wales international joined Juventus from Arsenal in the summer of 2019 on a free transfer.
Ramsey is on enormous wages, thought to be around £200k-a-week (Calcio Mercato).
That would obviously be problematic for West Ham. The Welshman’s checkered injury record will also be a red flag for the Hammers.
The 30-year-old Juve star does possess genuine quality, however. And if Ramsey maintains his fitness for the next few years, he might just be a useful addition for West Ham.
That’s on the one condition that he will be available for a reasonable fee this summer of course.
