Ainsley Maitland-Niles has just been released by Arsenal, and it seems as though West Ham United want to snap him up.

According to Football Transfers, West Ham are working intensively to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on a free transfer after his exit from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

West Ham wanted to sign the 25-year-old last summer, and we were told exclusively by Gunners blogger Le Grove just how good the ‘immense’ versatile ace can be.

Hammers boss David Moyes needs to strengthen his ranks at the London Stadium in numerous positions this summer, including right-back and central midfield.

Football Transfers claim that the Hammers are going all out to bring the talented free agent to the London Stadium this summer.

Recent loan spells with West Brom, Roma and Southampton didn’t work out the way that he hoped, but now his next move will be a permanent one.

A lot of West Ham fans seem to be suggesting that Ainsley Maitland-Niles would be a terrible signing. However, I believe he could end up being a really useful addition for us.

He is technically very good and has pace to burn. The 25-year-old also has energy, stamina and athleticism in abundance.

Maitland-Niles would offer us a completely different facet to our play down the right hand side. He would also offer cover in pretty much every other position on the pitch apart from centre-forward!

The chance to sign the former Arsenal man on a free transfer is one that Moyes must grasp with both hands in my opinion.

And judging by the latest round of reports, that’s exactly what he’s doing.
