It is believed that the Kiwi joining the Bees from the Hammers has improved relations between the two clubs after the Said Benrahma debacle in October.

Reid was the only senior play to leave East London on deadline day. Frustrating though, there were no new arrivals.

David Moyes desperately tried to bring a new centre-forward to the London Stadium in January. He ultimately failed, but it’s not the Scot’s fault.

We all know that David Sullivan and David Gold are to blame.

Sully clearly offered Moyes a list of his ‘striker specials’ with the Scot choosing not to sign anyone in the end.

He wasn’t backed to sign the striker he wanted.

One of those names was Ivan Toney according to the Express.

We obviously missed out on the Brentford hitman. Many West Ham fans suggested that the Bees would be reluctant to deal with us again after David Sullivan proved so troublesome during negotiations for Said Benrahma four months ago.

West Ham United’s chances of signing Ivan Toney improve?

Football.London are now suggesting that the door could be open for the Hammers to sign Toney in the summer, however. Rerlations between West Ham and Brentford have allegedly improved after Winston Reid was sent to the Brentford Community Stadium on loan.

And what a superb signing the 24-year-old Bees ace would be for us.

The in-form striker joined Brentford from Peterborough in the summer for around £10 million (Sky Sports).

The 24-year-old has been in red-hot form for the Bees this season. He has scored 18 goals in 25 Championship games (Transfermarkt).

Toney has electric pace and is clearly a top class finisher. He is also just 24, so fits perfectly into the category of players David Moyes wants to bring to the London Stadium.

Whether West Ham are prepared to meet the Bees’ valuation of the Ivan Toney, however, remains to be seen. Having not spent this month, Moyes should have plenty of cash at his disposal in the summer.

And the 24-year-old will surely be topping the Scot’s wish-list.
