Indecision from David Moyes cost West Ham the chance to sign Conor Coady from Wolves and allowed Everton to nip in and sign him.
That’s according to The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg who claims the Everton took the lead in the race for Coady whilst Hammers manager Moyes was mulling over whether or not to sign him.

This has been a criticism of Moyes in the past but we have to say, he hasn’t got many transfers wrong since returning to the London Stadium in December 2019.
Nikola Vlasic has been the only signing that hasn’t really worked out during Moyes’s second stint at West Ham. So we’ve got to trust the Scot and back him in his decisions.

And this time, it seems as though Moyes’s indecision was very much a good thing for the Hammers…
David Moyes indecisions regarding Conor Coady a good thing
Jacob Steinberg reckons that West Ham missed out on signing the Wolves captain to Everton due to the Scot’s indecision.
We think it’s a very good thing that we haven’t signed the English centre-half though.
Wolves valued Coady at around £20 million last summer (The Sun) but have now allowed him to join Everton on a season-long loan.
We wouldn’t have minded the 29-year-old at West Ham, for his exceptional leadership skills if nothing else. Declan Rice loves him as well.

The thing is, because of Moyes’s indecision regarding Coady, he is now eyeing moves to sign Paris Saint Germain duo Thilo Kehrer and Abdou Diallo (The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg).
Those two players are levels above Conor Coady and we’re delighted that David Moyes hasn’t panicked and rushed in to sign the 29-year-old.
The Scot has a central defensive injury crisis on his hands at the London Stadium at the moment.
Signing Kehrer or Diallo instead of Coady would be hugely exciting for the Hammers.
And if it happens, we’ll have Moyes to thank yet again.
