According to Sky Italia (Live transfer feed, January 21st, 08:55), West Ham have made a concrete move to sign Giovanni Simeone.
In other news…Sullivan up to his old tricks as report claims West Ham have bid rejected for 26-year-old
The Hammers have allegedly offered €1 million to bring the 25-year-old to the London Stadium for the remainder of the season with an option to buy him in the summer.
Unfortunately for West Ham, however, Cagliari have rejected that proposal with the Serie A outfit not convinced whatsoever (Sky Italia).
It is little wonder why the Italian side aren’t convinced. A £900,000 loan bid really is rather pathetic in today’s market.
David Moyes desperately needs to bring a new striker to the London Stadium this month.
The Scot is clearly not being sufficiently backed by the owners, however.
West Ham bid for Giovanni Simeone was embarrassing and quite frankly insulting to Cagliari
If Moyes truly wanted Simeone and the board were prepared to grant him his wish, they wouldn’t have made such a derisory offer for the Argentinian ace.
The 25-year-old – son of Argentina legend Diego Simeone, would be a great addition for the Hammers.
The fact that David Sullivan and David Gold allegedly only offered a £900,000 loan fee for the forward says all we need to know, however.
If West Ham are going to sign anyone this month it will probably be a foreign loan.
The owners could spring a major surprise of course. But we know them too well. The West Ham fans are wise to their games.
Let’s get this trending again shall we. Win, lose or draw.
