And the 28-year-old is allegedly ‘charmed’ at the idea of joining the Hammers.
West Ham boss David Moyes wanted to bring the nine-capped Belgium international to the London Stadium in January according to the Sun.
The Hammers will be looking to bolster their central midfield ranks this summer.
More quality competition and cover is required for Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.

West Ham signing Hans Vanaken would be a really smart move
The 28-year-old has racked up 11 goals and seven assists in 36 games in all competitions for Club Brugge this season (Transfermarkt).

Vanaken is a highly experienced winner, with three league titles to his name.

Vanaken could very well thrive at the London Stadium.
He won’t come cheap, however. West Ham will have to pay at least £15 million if they are to prise him away from the Belgian giants in the summer according to the Mirror.
