West Ham United have allegedly had a €50 million (£42 million) bid rejected for Brazilian winger Lucas Paqueta.
That’s according to a report from L’Equipe who claim that Lyon are holding out for closer to €60 million (£50 million).

Paqueta would be a sensational addition for the Hammers and we think the owners should be going all out for the 24-year-old.
But! Football Club reckon that if the 24-year-old is to leave Lyon this summer, it will be to join a club with some kind of European football on offer.
And that’s something that West Ham can obviously offer him, as long as we progress through against Viborg tomorrow night.
It seems as though the Hammers owners need to up their opening offer for Paqueta though, if they want to bring him to the London Stadium…

L’Equipe claim that the Hammers need to up our opening £42 million offer for Paqueta by a further £8 million if we want to bring him to the club.
If West Ham really want to mix it with the big boys, this is exactly the kind of signing David Moyes should be looking to make.
The 33-capped Brazil international is an attacking midfielder by trade but he can also operate on either wing if need be.
The silky left-footed ace has bagged 20 goals and 13 assists in 77 games for Lyon so far. Last season, he racked up 11 goals and seven assists in 44 appearances for the French side (Transfermarkt).
Paqueta possesses exceptional technique, impressive pace and has a real eye for goal and a killer pass.
When Liverpool were linked with a move to sign him, Reds fan-site Read Liverpool described the South American star as ‘electrifying’.
We think that £50 million for Lucas Paqueta wouldn’t be bad value at all for West Ham. Perhaps the Hammers and Lyon can meet somewhere in the middle around £45 million or so.
Whether the East London outfit manage to get a deal done for the Brazilian before the transfer window slams shut remain to be seen though.
