West Ham United have allegedly upped their salary offer to around £96k-a-week for Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it journalist Marco Giordano who claims that the Hammers will need to pay at least €38 million (£32 million) to sign the 28-year-old attacking midfielder this summer.

West Ham manager David Moyes has been heavily linked with a move to bring Zielinski to the London Stadium after he failed to sign Jesse Lingard.

However, the 72-capped Poland international apparently rejected a move to East London.

It seems as though the Napoli ace is after a much improved salary and according to latest round of reports, the Hammers have obliged…

West Ham offer Zielinski bumper deal

The Hammers have upped their contract offer to the Pole to around £96k-a-week according to a report from Calciomercato.it journalist Marco Giordano.

West Ham need to pay Napoli around £32 million, however, to bring the Polish ace to the London Stadium.

We think that Zielinski would be a very good addition indeed to Moyes’s ranks.

The 28-year-old is undoubtedly a huge talent and has the kind of ability that would definitely take West Ham’s attacking play to another level.

Zielinski bagged eight goals and five assists in 42 games for Napoli last season and in the 2020/21 campaign, he racked up 10 goals and 13 assists in 47 games (Transfermarkt).

In 35 Serie A outings last season, the Poland international made 36.1 passes on average per game and recorded an impressive completion rate of 84.8%. He also made an average of 1.4 key passes per match (Who Scored).

Former Poland manager Paulo Sousa described the Napoli midfielder as ‘exceptional’ (The Guardian).

And if West Ham manage to sign Zielinski this summer, we really will be in dreamland.

One thing to note though, is the fact that £32 million would be a lot of money to spend on a 28-year-old. Perhaps £25-28 million would be a fairer price to pay.

However, whether Napoli will be prepared to lower their demands for Zielinski remains to be seen.
