Report claims West Ham could now secure bargain £13 million deal for 23-year-old striker

West Ham United could secure an absolutely bargain deal for Blackburn striker Ben Brereton Diaz in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from the Chilean version of AS who claim that Blackburn are ready to sell Brereton Diaz to the Hammers for around £13 million this summer.

Blackburn are allegedly expecting West Ham to make a move to sign the Chile international striker this summer.

It was first reported that the Championship club want around £25 million for Brereton Diaz (Claret and Hugh).

At the time, that price sounded slightly excessive to say the least. However, it appears as though he will now be available for a lot cheaper than first thought…

West Ham could secure bargain striker deal

Chilean version of AS reckons that the Hammers could sign Ben Brereton Diaz from Blackburn for just €15 million (£13 million) this summer.

Now, the 23-year-old wouldn’t be a bad signing at all for the Hammers. We strongly believe that Moyes should be setting his sights a lot higher though.

Having said that, £13 million for Brereton Diaz would be very good value indeed and he would undoubtedly provide stiff competition and solid cover for Michail Antonio.

The Sun and Alan Nixon recently suggested that a move to West Ham in the summer would be a dream for the 23-year-old striker.

He has really impressed since the start of the 2021/22 campaign and he seems to have reached another level entirely for Blackburn.

The Chile international has bagged 22 goals in 37 Championship games (Transfermarkt). Diaz actually went nine games without scoring after the new year but made up for that with a couple of goals in Blackburn’s final four games of the season.

Brereton Diaz is a hard working striker and standing at 6ft 1in tall, he’s big and strong as well.

If West Ham do secure a bargain £13 million deal for the Blackburn striker, we think that would be very good business indeed for the East London outfit.
