Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wanted to sign West Ham winger Felipe Anderson on loan recently, but the Hammers wanted to sell the Brazilian permanently, according to a report from the Telegraph.

And this has the makings of a transfer saga that could rumble on all summer long.

ExWHUemployee claimed last weekend that the Gunners were interested in the Hammers winger.

And with West Ham boss David Moyes in desperate need of raising funds, selling Anderson to Arsenal would be a great way to recoup some much needed cash.

The Telegraph claims that Mikel Arteta only wanted to bring the former Lazio man to the Emirates on loan, however.

The 27-year-old joined the Hammers from Lazio in the summer of 2018 for around £42 million (Football.London).

Anderson has failed to live up to that mammoth fee since moving to the London Stadium, however, in spite of a decent debut campaign in England.

Poor form could spell the end of Anderson’s Hammers career

And things really went south for the winger last season.

The former Lazio man really struggled, with just one goal and four assists to his name in 25 Premier League games for West Ham (Transfermarkt).

Anderson earns £85,000 per week according to Spotrac. So getting those massive wages off the books this summer will be hugely important for David Moyes.

A loan is no good for the Hammers, however. We need funds and we need them now. If Arsenal don’t want to buy the Brazilian, let’s just move on and sell him to a club that is ready to part with some cash for him.
