West Ham United’s task of signing Bayern Munich target Matthias Ginter on a free transfer in the summer may have just got a whole lot easier.

That’s because Bayern Munich have pulled out of the race to sign the 28-year-old according to a report from German publication Bild.

Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the 46-capped Germany international to the London Stadium this summer according to a report from Sky Sports.

And it’s little wonder as to why.

Ginter is an exceptional player and can play in both the centre-back and defensive midfield positions. What a signing he would be for West Ham.

And it seems as though we now have a very good chance of bringing him to East London.

Bayern leave door open for West Ham to sign Ginter

According to a report from Bild, Bayern Munich no longer want to sign Ginter and as a result, West Ham may now have a free run to sign the 28-year-old.

This is an opportunity that the Hammers cannot afford to miss out on.

Signing the Gladbach ace on a free transfer would be a truly sensational piece of business for the East London outfit.

He has played 26 Bundesliga games for Gladbach this season. During those outings, the 28-year-old has averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 3 clearances per game. He’s also won an average of 2.9 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).

Ginter has made 67.2 passes on average per game and has recorded a completion rate of 83.6% (Who Scored).

The German is clearly very good in the air and with the ball at his feet. He would be a sensational addition for the Hammers.

Signing him on a free transfer in the summer should be an absolute no-brainer for West Ham.

And with Bayern Munich having reportedly dropped out of the race for Ginter, West Ham may well have a clear run at the German’s signature.
