West Ham United allegedly want to sign Borussia Monchengladbach starlet Manu Kone in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report from Sport Bild who claim that the 21-year-old midfielder is in fact at the very top of David Moyes’s January wish-list.

Signing a top-class, powerful central midfielder with a solid range of passing and energy and dynamism in abundance will be one of the main priorities for Moyes.

The problem is, there aren’t too many of those complete midfielders around, and certainly not any available for reasonable fees.

Or are there…

Tomas Soucek just isn’t good enough for West Ham anymore, certainly if David Moyes is genuinely keen for his side to evolve into more of a possession-based team.

And if the Hammers are to make genuine progress, Moyes needs to bring in an upgrade on the 27-year-old Czech Republic international in January…

West Ham eye up Manu Kone swoop

According to a report from Sport Bild, the 21-year-old Borussia Monchengladbach ace is Moyes’s number one transfer target in January.

Kone is allegedly available for around £22 million as well (Sport Bild).

The problem for West Ham is that we might have to wait until the summer of 2023 before we can sign him.

I would absolutely love to see Moyes bring the young Frenchman to the London Stadium, whenever that may be.

In 13 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, Kone has averaged 1.8 tackles and one interception per game. He has made 46.8 passes per match and has recorded a completion rate of 87.2% (Who Scored).

The Gladbach ace has so much potential, it’s actually frightening.

He has all of the physical attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League as well, which is obviously a huge bonus.

£22 million for the 21-year-old would represent unbelievable business for the Hammers.

West Ham signing Manu Kone would be a hugely exciting move.
