‘Poetry in motion’ Ibrahim Sangare is put up for sale after West Ham bid last year but Spurs and Liverpool want him too.

There has been a major development over the future of brilliant PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare that will excite West Ham.

But rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are both said to be sniffing around the longstanding Hammers target too.

Back in April it was reported that West Ham had three players in mind to replace Declan Rice when he is sold.

And one of them was smooth operator Sangare.

Around the same time FourFourTwo reported that Liverpool and Tottenham were two clubs who were also particularly keen on Sangare too.

Hammers bid for silky smooth star last summer

The interest from West Ham, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and Spurs certainly adds up. With Manuel Lanzini and Rice leaving West Ham, David Moyes has a midfield rebuild on his hands.

Liverpool do too and have started it with the signing of Alexis Mac Allister.

Meanwhile word is that Tottenham Hotspur central midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is not part of new manager Ange Postecoglou’s plans and could move to Atletico Madrid (Football Espana).

Hammers fans who followed last summer’s window will know West Ham were reported to have made a move for Sangare.

The likes of The Daily Mail and Calciomercato claimed West Ham tried to sign Sangare from PSV in a £25m deal.

And the reports stated the defensive midfielder – who has been described as ‘poetry in motion’ – wanted to join the Hammers too.

Any chance West Ham had of signing Sangare were extinguished when he signed a new deal with PSV before the summer transfer deadline.

However, there were claims almost immediately after Sangare signed that deal that it was simply PSV’s way of ensuring they got true value when selling him as his contract was running down.

Journalist Santi Aouna claimed news of Sangare’s new deal had not ‘scared West Ham off’.

It has since emerged that the extension was merely an agreement between Sangare and PSV to ensure the club received market value for their star man.

Well now it looks like they are ready to cash in.

Because ‘poetry in motion’ Sangare is put up for sale after West Ham bid last year but Spurs and Liverpool want him too.

Eindhovens Dagblad and Get Football News are reporting that Sangare will leave PSV Eindhoven in the coming weeks.

“After attracting interest from several top clubs, it’s been revealed that he’s likely to leave the Philips Stadion this summer,” the reports state.

“PSV value the player at around €37m (£31.8m), but a number of clubs are reportedly reluctant to pay that fee…

“If an offer comes in from the right club, it’s likely Sangare will take the opportunity and leave. Previously, Tottenham, Liverpool and PSG have all been linked with a move for the midfielder too.”

With around £100m incoming from the sale of Rice, West Ham will have the money to pay PSV’s asking price.

So this is potentially exciting news for the Hammers. However interest from Tottenham and Liverpool is a concern.
