West Ham United clearly have a lot of work to do in the January transfer window.
Nuno Espirito Santo is frantically trying to bolster his ranks at West Ham with the January transfer window now open for business.
Things are looking bleak for the Hammers right now, with Nuno’s men sitting four points adrift of safety in the Premier League table.
As a result, West Ham are already considering sacking Nuno, with Michael Carrick one of the names being linked with replacing him.
What would YOUR ideal January transfer window look like? 💰
And which changes would you make to our XI?
The big problem for the Hammers is that whoever is in charge, the squad simply isn’t good enough.
Nuno needs to strengthen his ranks in every single department, and quickly.
However, there is plenty of dead weight that needs shipping out of the door at the London Stadium as well.
Player keen to leave West Ham in the January window
With so many new signings required, shifting some players out of the door as well will be very important.
If that means getting wages off the books by releasing players this month, or securing some loan deal exits, then so be it.
And one player who has been a major flop at the London Stadium could be set to leave for pastures new this winter.

According to a report from Tuttomercatoweb, Rodriguez wants to leave West Ham to join Juventus in the January window.
It has already been claimed that Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti is keen on Rodriguez as he will be an easier signing to get over the line than his main target – former Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
I say good riddance. Does anyone know if he needs a lift to the airport?
In all seriousness, the Argentine midfielder has proven to be a truly awful signing for the Hammers.
Disastrous Guido Rodriguez signing for West Ham
He moved to the London Stadium on a free transfer in the summer of 2024 and much was expected of the now 31-year-old.
However, the former Real Betis midfielder has been really poor for West Ham and it’s been clear to see that he is painfully ill-suited to the robust nature of Premier League football.
If you could replace Nuno with one out-of-work manager, who are you picking?
And why?
Rodriguez has played just 30 games for West Ham in 18 months and has failed to score a single goal or register an assist.
His lack of ability to get around the pitch has proved costly to us on many occasions over the past year or so.
Whenever he features for the Hammers, we are incredibly easy to play through because he has minimal athleticism.
The sooner Rodriguez leaves West Ham, the better.
Even if he is sent out the door on loan this winter, before permanently leaving the Hammers in the summer, that will be just fine.
Getting his £75k-a-week wages off the books, or even a percentage of his pay-packet, would be a boost to West Ham’s transfer kitty.
