West Ham target Paul Onuachu has just signed a new deal with Genk that runs until the summer of 2024.

Hammers boss David Moyes wanted to bring the prolific 27-year-old to the London Stadium in the summer (All Nigeria Soccer and Voetbal Belgie).

West Ham failed to sign the Nigeria international, however, after Genk were allegedly demanding around £25 million for his services.

The Genk hitman was on fire last season racking up 29 goals in 33 League games. He has a fairly impressive career record as well with 129 goals in 272 appearances to his name (Transfermarkt).

He’s made a fine start to this season as well with six goals in 10 games to his name.

The 13-capped Nigeria international is an absolute giant. Standing at 6ft 7in tall, Paul Onuachu is understandably an absolute menace in the air.

The 27-year-old has been described as ‘unplayable’ by Nigerian football website Soccernet.

It’s a real shame that we didn’t sign Onuachu. And now it seems as though our hopes of doing just that could be well and truly over.

Paul Onuachu signs new deal, West Ham hopes finally over?

The 27-year-old giant striker has just put pen to paper on a new three-year deal with Genk:

It seems as though it may be even more expensive for West Ham to prise him way from Genk now. And that means that our hopes of doing that are most probably dead in the water.

Let’s just hope that missing out on the Nigerian doesn’t come back to haunt us in the Europa League this season.

Let’s just hope that David Moyes has an even better striker lined up either in January or next summer.
