The path has been cleared for West Ham United to sign David Moyes’s new prime target Nikola Milenkovic.
Is the great GSB divide actually helping West Ham?
That’s after Serie A giants AC Milan withdrew their interest in the Fiorentina defender because they cannot compete with what West Ham are offering.
West Ham have been linked with a move for the highly-rated centre-back as David Moyes desperately tries to add new faces before Monday’s transfer deadline.
According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham have made a £23 million bid for the Serbian international.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that West Ham have identified Fiorentina’s Milenkovic as Moyes’s new prime target.
It is suggested that the east Londoners have bid €25 million (£23 million) for the 22-year-old, but La Viola want more.
Now Di Marzio, SempreMilan and MilanNews claim Milan have called off their pursuit of Milenkovic.
And that clears the path for West Ham to make what could be one of the outstanding signings of the transfer window.
Milenkovic has been dubbed the ‘new Nemanja Vidic’ in his homeland (ESPN). And even just watching brief clips of the 22-year-old centre-back, the similarities are striking.

West Ham will hope Milenkovic can do half as well as Vidic in the Premier League if they sign him before Monday’s transfer deadline.
And given West Ham’s record so far this window, that’s a big ‘if’.
The Hammers have missed out on a host of targets so far.
But there are no excuses for West Ham transfer chief and co-owner David Sullivan after Milan dropped their interest.
Sullivan must make a deal happen by – within reason – meeting Fiorentina’s asking price for Milenkovic.

Over to you Sullivan
That is said to be around £30million. According to Di Marzio West Ham entered the bidding with a £23million offer.
So the two clubs are not a million miles away and a deal could be struck.
Whether West Ham get it over the line in time remains to be seen.
But after Wednesday night’s shambolic defending in the 4-1 defeat to Everton one thing is for certain, West Ham need him.
