West Ham boss David Moyes should kick off his summer transfer business by signing Leeds ace Kalvin Phillips.
If Leeds get relegated on the final day of the season, the brilliant 26-year-old midfielder will be available for just £30 million according to The Daily Mail.
Central midfield is obviously an area where Moyes really needs to strengthen with Mark Noble set to retire and Alex Kral having not impressed during his loan spell.
West Ham kicking off our summer business with a move to sign Phillips from Leeds would be absolutely ideal.
The Whites are currently sitting inside the relegation zone and need to better Burnley’s result on the final day of the season in order to remain in the Premier League.
And if Leeds do go down, the Hammers need to act immediately…
West Ham summer business needs to start with Kalvin Phillips signing
Bringing the England international in to play alongside Declan Rice for just £30 million, should Leeds get relegated, is an absolute no-brainer.
We should be on the phone to them immediately after the game activating that clause.
In all fairness, we wouldn’t even mind of West Ham paid £50 million for Phillips, he would be more than worth that kind of fee.
The 26-year-old would be the perfect summer signing for the Hammers.
He is a tough-tackling, tenacious central midfielder and would be the ideal man to slot in the middle of the park alongside Declan Rice.
This would then allow Tomas Soucek to get forward more and do what he does best.
We firmly believe that there is every chance that this one will happen this summer. The chance to line up alongside his England teammate Rice would surely appeal to Phillips.
West Ham boss David Moyes needs to get his summer business spot on. And bringing the 26-year-old Leeds star to the London Stadium would be the perfect way to kick things off.
