West Ham may well have been handed a big boost in our pursuit of a striker today as Liverpool close in on the signing of Luis Diaz.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool are closing in on the €60 million (£50 million) signing of the 25-year-old attacker.
Meanwhile, West Ham boss David Moyes wants to bring Reds striker Divock Origi to the London Stadium according to the likes of and Dharmesh Sheth (Sky Sports News The Transfer Show and 90 Min.

We believe that Luis Diaz arriving at Anfield could be the final straw for Origi’s time with Liverpool.

The Porto ace is a sensational forward. He possesses exceptional technique, has blistering pace and has a real end product as well with 14 goals and five assists to his name in just 18 league games for Porto so far this season (Transfermarkt). It will be incredibly hard for Origi to force his way into the Liverpool starting XI if Diaz does in fact move to Anfield before the January transfer window slams shut.
Liverpool signing Luis Diaz could be great news for West Ham
If the Reds do get a deal for the 25-year-old over the line before Monday’s 11pm deadline, the Hammers cannot afford to wait around. Let’s make a move for Origi now.
Whilst the 31-capped Colombia international isn’t a central striker like Origi, he can play anywhere along the front-line. And if he does end up moving to Anfield, Jurgen Klopp may well be prepared to sell the Belgian to the Hammers.
Klopp has Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino to choose from aside from Origi.
So the Belgian surely faces a bleak future at Anfield. West Ham need to make a move for the 26-year-old now.
He would be an outstanding addition for the Hammers.

He can play anywhere along the front-line, is willing to put in a real shift and has proven that he can produce the goods at the very highest level.
Origi scored a goal in the Champions League final back in 2019 so he certainly knows how to perform on the biggest stage.
The Liverpool hitman possesses a real burst of acceleration and perhaps if given regular game-time at West Ham, everyone would start to see the best of the Belgian.
If Moyes could bring him to the London Stadium for just £10 million, it would be one of the best pieces of business West Ham have done in recent years.
And Liverpool signing Luis Diaz from Porto could be the start of the domino effect that sees Divock Origi move from Merseyside to East London.
