Newcastle United are allegedly ready to meet Barcelona’s demands for West Ham United transfer target Memphis Depay.
That’s according to a report from Sport who claim that Newcastle are ready to part with €20 million (£17 million) to sign the 28-year-old Hammers target.
Newcastle seem to be challenging us for all of our transfer targets this summer don’t they!

David Moyes is allegedly keen to bring Depay to the London Stadium from Barcelona this summer.
It appears as though Newcastle are ready to pull the trigger first, however.

And that will be an obvious problem for West Ham, considering the financial firepower at the Magpies’ disposal…
Newcastle ready to pay Memphis Depay asking price
Sport reckon that the Toon are lining up a £17 million bid for Depay.
If Newcastle win the race for the Dutchman, it will be a big blow for West Ham. The 28-year-old would have been the ideal accompaniment to Gianluca Scamacca (medical pending) and Michail Antonio at the London Stadium.
The 28-year-old possess real quality and his talent is undeniable.
We think that for £17 million, Depay would be a very good signing indeed for whichever club wins the race for his signature.

The 28-year-old bagged 13 goals and two assists in 38 games for Barca last season (Transfermarkt).
The former Manchester United ace is an enigmatic, precocious talent and on his day he is unplayable. Depay is incredibly strong as well and would be ideally suited to leading the line on his own for the Hammers.
The Barcelona ace has been described as a player with ‘unreal skill’ by The Metro.
Sure, he has displayed some attitude problems in the past but who better to get him on the straight and narrow than David Moyes?
With Barcelona allegedly now demanding just £17 million for the Dutch flyer, signing him seems like somewhat of a no-brainer for West Ham.
Unfortunately for us though, it appears as though Newcastle United are in the driving seat to sign Memphis Depay this summer.
