West Ham United are said to be lining up a move to sign a truly elite young striker on transfer deadline day.
Numerous different names have been linked with a move to West Ham already this month, but with deadline day now just under 15 hours away, the need for a new signing has become an urgent one.
It’s frustrating that the January transfer window has failed to yield any new signings so far, because Graham Potter desperately needs some new bodies through the door at the London Stadium.
The good news is that West Ham are said to be working really hard behind the scenes to make multiple deals happen.
However, it’s now very much a case of now or never.

Potter desperately needs to bring a new striker to the London Stadium, if he is to succeed in charge of the Hammers.
And a new name has just now been touted with a move to West Ham.
West Ham plot deadline day deal for elite striker
The next 36 hours or so will be incredibly busy for the Hammers.
The club are said to be lining up moves to sign numerous different strikers.
And now a new and extremely exciting name has been added to the lengthy list.
According to the Sunday Mirror (print edition February 2nd, page 69), West Ham are keen to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.
However, there is a big problem – Manchester City have a £29.5 million buy-back option on the 21-year-old.
That said, they have just signed Omar Marmoush, so I’m not sure there is a need for Delap at the Etihad right now anyway.
If there is any chance at all of signing Delap, the Hammers have to make it happen. He is absolutely perfect for Potter’s system.
Liam Delap would be a stunning signing for West Ham
The 21-year-old has been in sensational form for Ipswich since moving to Portman Road from Manchester City for £15 million in the summer.

Delap has bagged nine goals and two assists in 23 Premier League games for a struggling Ipswich Town side (Transfermarkt).
He is a brilliant young striker, and he would take the Hammers to a whole new level entirely.
The former Man City hitman is incredibly strong, and is exceptional when playing with his back to goal, holding up the ball and linking up play.
Delap is a real handful in the air, is quick along the ground and is an elite finisher.
West Ham absolutely have to get a deal done for Liam Delap before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm on deadline day tomorrow.
He would be a transformational signing for the Hammers. Let’s just hope that there is some real substance to the latest claim from the Mirror.
