Hammers boss David Moyes absolutely must bring a top class centre-forward to the London Stadium this summer.

West Ham sold Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January and failed to replace him.

That needs to be addressed in the summer for sure.

The Hammers have already been linked with at least 30 strikers since January.

And now a new name has been added to the list!

West Ham chasing Beto?

Record (Print edition, May 5th, page 10) claims that the Hammers want to sign the 23-year-old Portimonense hitman.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Beto is a target man type striker.

He has racked up 11 goals and three assists in 26 league games for Portimonense this season (Transfermarkt).

Record (Print edition, May 5th, page 10) claims that West Ham will have to pay a minimum of €20 million (£17 million) in order to sign the Portuguese centre-forward.

That seems like a lot of money for a striker who is yet to prove himself at the very highest level.

Perhaps a fee closer to £10-12 million would be fairer.

It entirely up to Portimonense, however. Beto may well be irreplaceable for them. So they are fully within their rights to demand a large fee for him.

We just don’t think that West Ham should be paying £17 million for Beto. It would be a big risk and David Moyes absolutely must get the striker signing spot on in the summer.
