A new Mohamed Salah Liverpool twist is hugely concerning for West Ham over the future of Hammers star Jarrod Bowen.
Jurgen Klopp has all but admitted he is keen to bring brilliant West Ham ace Bowen to Liverpool.
If the endless media reports all last season hadn’t made that clear, the big German did himself by admitting he loves the ‘unbelievable’ attacker and has been following his career closely.
Klopp sang Bowen’s praises last season and his comments about the West Ham star were seen as a Liverpool ‘charm offensive’ back in March (The Mirror).
Hammers boss David Moyes was even asked if Klopp had angered him with his comments and actions as he went over to Bowen to console the West Ham forward when he came off injured against Liverpool at Anfield (Football.London).
Moyes defended the Liverpool boss, insisting it was just a show of sportsmanship and revealed Klopp had been complimentary about several West Ham players. not just Bowen.
Yesterday a West Ham insider made a big claim that Liverpool will not be moving for Bowen this summer having signed Darwin Nunez – the striker David Moyes tried to sign in January (Claret and Hugh).
And the insider says West Ham are hoping to tie Bowen down to a new long-term deal so that Liverpool are warned off if and when Salah’s future comes up for discussion again.
Well a new Salah Liverpool twist overnight is hugely concerning for West Ham over the future of Bowen.
New Mohamed Salah Liverpool twist is hugely concerning for West Ham over the future of Jarrod Bowen
Because widespread reports overnight claim Liverpool have now all but admitted defeat in the Egyptian signing a new deal at Anfield and are preparing for him to leave on a free next summer.
And it is the ‘preparing’ part West Ham will be extremely about.
According to The Sunday Mirror, Liverpool don’t expect any breakthrough in talks with Salah with next season set to be his last at Anfield.
It is claimed that Liverpool have ‘no plans’ to revisit talks with Salah and give in to his reported £450k per week wage demands.
The report claims Salah currently earns £200k per week. And that kind of money could soon be flashed Bowen’s way if Klopp – as is widely anticipated – goes for Bowen as the star’s replacement.
A West Ham insider made it clear this weekend that the club would demand in excess of £100m for Bowen should Liverpool come knocking.
Salah signing a new deal would have given West Ham great hope of hanging on to Bowen long term.
Moyes will still retain that hope of course. But it will be very interesting now to see if Bowen does ever sign a new deal knowing full well Liverpool look likely to come knocking in just 12 months time.
