More worrying news has emerged for West Ham about injured star man Crysencio Summerville after a journalist made a claim about his future.
After two years of abject misery on the pitch, West Ham has been a good place to be over the last two months.
And that is thanks in no small part to Hammers star Crysencio Summerville.
The Dutch winger is one of – if not the – form players in the Premier League so far this year with seven goals in his last 11 appearances for West Ham.
West Ham face worry over Summerville’s future after ‘entourage claim’
Summerville has found a sweet spot in his all-round game under Nuno Espirito Santo of late, almost single-handedly breathing life into West Ham’s hopes of Premier League survival.
As seems so typical of West Ham’s rotten luck, though, Summerville was hit by an injury blow this week.
If Summerville is out, who do YOU want to see start on the left?
Now there is more worrying news for West Ham about their star man Summerville.
The Hammers’ FA Cup fifth round win over Brentford came at a price on Monday night when Summerville lay stricken on the ground with a non-impact injury.
Fears the 24-year-old had suffered a recurrence of the hamstring problem which kept him out for most of last year were allayed, though, when West Ham confirmed Summerville had suffered a new injury to his calf.

West Ham expect Summerville to be out until April 5th vs Leeds after a scan on the knock.
Although the Hammers have teased a more hopeful update on Summerville following claims he could end up only missing this weekend’s clash against Man City.
Losing your most in-form player in the thick of a relegation battle is an issue which could prove potentially fatal for West Ham’s survival hopes with games fast running out.
Now it is Summerville’s very future at the club – and the possibility he could have his head turned at the most important stage of the campaign – which will be worrying Nuno and Hammers fans.
Napoli threaten to turn Summerville’s head but mooted fee laughable
According to journalist Sébastien Vidal, the co-founder of Weekend Sports and author of ‘What England Taught Me About Football’, Serie A giants Napoli have made contact with Summerville’s entourage about joining them this summer.
A ridiculously low fee of £26m – the same amount the Hammers paid Leeds for the winger – is mooted.
Would you rather sell Bowen or Summerville this summer?

But even Vidal admits that may be far too low to get Summerville to Naples.
The most concerning thing about Vidal’s exclusive report is that he claims ‘West Ham are not closing the door’ on selling Summerville to Napoli.
West Ham need all their top players focused and ready to put their bodies on the line to the very last moment of this season in order to beat the drop.

So the thought Napoli may get in Summerville’s head will be giving one or two key figures at the London Stadium sleepless nights.
“Napoli has approached Crysencio Summerville’s entourage regarding a possible transfer this summer,” Vidal claims.
“West Ham wouldn’t close the door, but the £26m mentioned seems well below the current value of the Dutch winger.”
Napoli are a huge club who have been winning Serie A titles in recent years.
They would also likely be able to offer Summerville Champions League football next season.
There is also the very real danger West Ham will have to sell players this summer after club record £104m losses in the latest accounts.
On the flip side Napoli have plenty of money burning a hole in club coffers after several mega money, high profile player sales in recent years including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to PSG for nearly £80m.
If Summerville was worth £26m when the Hammers signed him from Leeds when they were in the Championship, then there is an argument he is worth at least double that now.
And if he continues his superb form to help keep West Ham up, you can probably add another £15-20m to that figure.
