French club Monaco are already lining up replacements for prime David Moyes West Ham target Benoit Badiashile.
That’s according to new reports from France overnight.
West Ham have been linked with a host of players in the January window with Moyes said to be keen on signing a centre-back and a forward.
And the Scot has a number one January target in mind according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Foot Mercato claims West Ham are prioritising a move to sign Monaco defender Badiashile.
The 6ft 4in 20-year-old is a huge talent and has reportedly caught the eye of West Ham, particularly given he is a rare left-footed centre-back – like Ogbonna.
And now there is a suggestion from France that Monaco are preparing to say goodbye to the France Under 21 star.
Monaco already lining up replacements for prime David Moyes West Ham target Benoit Badiashile
“Our colleagues at Foot Mercato report that Ligue 1 side Monaco are quietly looking for potential replacements in the event that 20-year-old defender Benoît Badiashile exits the club this month,” GFFN reports.
“Newcastle United and West Ham United continue to hold talks for the player, despite him recently suffering an injury that may keep him out of action for five weeks.
“New Monaco boss Philippe Clément has identified 22-year-old defender Stanley Nsoki as a possible replacement. Nsoki hit it off with Clement at Club Brugge this season after a summer transfer from OGC Nice. Nsoki is currently under contract with the Belgian outfit until June 2025.”
Badiashile is exactly the kind of signing Moyes has stated he wants to bring to West Ham.
Young, athletic, powerful players hungry to prove themselves at the top level.
Badiashile would also join a growing French and French speaking contingent at West Ham.
