Massive West Ham Lucas Paqueta boost as report claims Arsenal could sign 'world-class' £50m attacker

West Ham have been handed a huge Lucas Paqueta boost with reports claiming that Arsenal want to sign Wolves ace Pedro Neto.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is pushing hard to bring Neto to The Emirates from Molineux this summer for around £50 million according to Dean Jones (when speaking to Give Me Sport).

Now, this is an interesting one because earlier today, news broke that West Ham and Arsenal both want to sign Lucas Paqueta from Lyon (Ben Jacobs when speaking to NUFC Matters YouTube channel).

Should the Gunners sign Neto from Wolves though, they surely won’t be after Paqueta as well. And that would only be a good thing for West Ham.

The 24-year-old Brazilian would be a sensational addition for the Hammers.

And as Arsenal focus on Neto, the East London outfit now need to push ahead for the Lyon ace…

Arsenal chasing Neto is great news for West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta hopes

Dean Jones (when speaking to Give Me Sport) has suggested that the Gunners have already made some enquiries for the Wolves star:

“If they decide to stay in the Premier League, I think Pedro Neto could be one to look out for. There have been some enquiries made along that path and I think that’s one that might get talked about a little bit more in the next week or so.”

Neto, 22, is apparently available for around £50 million this summer (The Sun).

The Portugal international is a real talent and has been described as ‘world-class’ by Jamie Redknapp.

So if Arsenal sign him, then good for them. The good news for West Ham is that it should free us up to sign Lucas Paqueta from Lyon.

We would absolutely love to see the 24-year-old at the London Stadium.

The 33-capped Brazil international is an attacking midfielder by trade but he can also operate on either wing if need be.

The silky left-footed ace has bagged 20 goals and 13 assists in 77 games for Lyon so far. Last season, he bagged 11 goals and seven assists in 44 appearances for the French side (Transfermarkt).

Paqueta possesses exceptional technique, impressive pace and has a real eye for goal and a killer pass.

When Liverpool were linked with a move to sign him, Reds fan-site Read Liverpool described the South American star as ‘electrifying’.

He has been valued at around €80 million (£67 million) by Football.London whilst Media Foot reckon that Lyon could sell him for as little as €40 million (£34 million).

The second fee would represent sensational value for the Hammers.

And with Arsenal now targeting a move to sign Neto, the path may well be clear for West Ham to bring Lucas Paqueta to the London Stadium.
