Hammers boss David Moyes is desperate to bolster his centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

Michail Antonio is currently the Scot’s only recognised senior striker. That is quite frankly pathetic for a club with European football on the horizon.

It will be vital for Moyes to get the striker signing spot on this summer.

West Ham have already been linked with a plethora of centre-forwards.

Martin Braithwaite a target for West Ham

The Barca ace is on the Hammers’ radar according to a report Sport.

The Catalan giants allegedly want around €18 million (£15.3 million) for the 30-year-old.

There are numerous reasons why this makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever.

Firstly, Braithwaite’s age is a real red flag.

David Moyes has repeatedly insisted that he is only interested in bringing young, talented and hungry players to the London Stadium.

So the 30-year-old Dane will surely not be on West Ham’s radar.

Secondly, the Barcelona forward has a really poor career goalscoring record. He has only 93 goals in 401 games to his name (Transfermarkt)!

And finally, the Denmark international has proven to be nothing better than average everywhere he has been throughout his journeyman career to date.

West Ham need to sign a clinical striker this summer. He needs to be athletic, energetic and physically robust. Braithwaite doesn’t possess all of those characteristics.
