There’s a mammoth boost for David Moyes as rival bidders have pulled out of the race with West Ham to sign prime Declan Rice replacement target Edson Alvarez.
West Ham boss David Moyes is waking up to some very good news this morning if fresh reports are to be believed.
With Declan Rice edging closer to his emotional Hammers exit, Moyes is honing in on who he wants to replace him.
Earlier this week Italian transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano reaffirmed West Ham’s interest in Ajax’s Mexican midfield destroyer Edson Alvarez.
It was also reported last week that ‘work was going on behind the scenes’ after West Ham identified Alvarez as one of their prime targets to replace Rice.

Romano then provided an honest but encouraging update on West Ham’s pursuit of Alvarez amid interest from Borussia Dortmund.
There was a major development at the weekend, though, and it looked like bad news for West Ham.
Romano claimed West Ham looked set to miss out on Alvarez to Dortmund ahead of an official bid being made this week.
He even stated personal terms had already been agreed.
But there’s a mammoth boost for Moyes as club out of the race with West Ham to sign prime Rice replacement target Alvarez.
Dortmund have officially pulled out of the race to sign Alvarez and West Ham remain seriously interested according to Voetbal International.

On me Edson
“On Thursday Borussia Dortmund pulled out of the race to sign Álvarez despite agreeing personal terms with the Mexican midfielder,” the report states.
“West Ham are set to sell Declan Rice to Arsenal for over £100m, meaning enough money would be raised to sign the Ajax ace. The Dutch giants value Álvarez at around €40m (£34.5m).
“Álvarez has been a West Ham target for some time now. The 25-year-old was exceptional last season despite Ajax’s third-place finish in the Eredivisie. He featured 31 times in the league, scoring three times and providing three assists.”
90 Min have made the same claim. But it seems it is not merely a negotiation tactic from Dortmund.
Because the report claims West Ham’s rival bidders are now making alternative transfer plans with midfielder Emre Can set to be offered a new contract and a move for Wolfsburg’s Felix Nmecha is being lined up.
