Newcastle United allegedly could beat West Ham United to the signing of Ismaila Sarr from Watford this summer.
That’s according to a report from FootMercato who claim that Newcastle could be ready to make a €35 million (£30 million) bid for the 24-year-old Watford star.

This will obviously represent a big problem for West Ham, what with Newcastle’s far superior financial muscle.
Hammers boss David Moyes is allegedly keen to bring Sarr to the London Stadium before the transfer window slams shut, according to The Mirror (print edition June 12th, page 72).
West Ham are believed to be prepared to pay around £25 million for the Senegal international – significantly less than Newcastle are ready to spend on the attacker.

It seems as though the East London outfit could have our work cut-out in the race to sign the Watford star though…
Newcastle could sign West Ham target Ismaila Sarr
FootMercato reckon that the Magpies are lining up a £30 million bid to bring the 24-year-old Watford ace to St James’ Park this summer.
Whether West Ham step up and challenge Newcastle for the attacker remains to be seen.
Moyes has already signed Gianluca Scamacca to bolster his attacking ranks but the Scot still needs to improve his options on the wing.
And Sarr would be a great signing for the Hammers in my view.
Sarr has racked up 24 goals and 18 assists in 92 games for the Hornets (Transfermarkt).
This season just gone, he bagged five goals and two assists in 22 Premier League games (Transfermarkt). He has only chalked up 10 goals and eight assists in 50 Premier League games, and that may well be somewhat of a concern for Newcastle and West Ham.

He’s well capable of improving those numbers though.
The 24-year-old is a frightening talent with explosive pace. He has a really direct playing style and that combined with his speed would add so much to West Ham’s counter-attacking setup.
Described by well-renowned scouting website Breaking The Lines as an ‘electric’ winger, Sarr has so much to offer at the very highest level of the game.
£25-30 million for Sarr seems like very good value to us.
Unfortunately for us, it seems as though moneybags Newcastle are better positioned to sign Ismaila Sarr this summer.
