A London-based star David Moyes wanted to sign from Manchester City could now join West Ham claims a new report.

West Ham have been linked with a move for defender Tosin Adarabioyo ever since Moyes’s return to east London back in 2020.

The Hammers were allegedly offered the chance to sign the young centre-back from Man City just £8 million back in September 2020 according to insiders speaking to Claret and Hugh at the time.

And Manchester-based journalist Simon Bajkowski revealed West Ham were battling Fulham for the former England youth international centre-back in that 2020 summer window – which extended into October of that year due to the pandemic.

Fulham ended up beating West Ham to Adarabioyo, though, and although he impressed, the Cottagers were relegated.

The 6ft5in 24-year-old has been linked with West Ham in every window since, including during January (Daily Mail and GiveMeSport).

Fulham are certainties to return to the top flight with the West Ham target leading the team from the back.

But he could be playing in the Premier League with West Ham rather than the west Londoners next season.

That’s according to new ‘exclusive’ report from Football League World.

London-based star David Moyes wanted from Man City could now join West Ham claims report

The London-based star Moyes wanted from Man City could now join West Ham from Fulham claims the FLW report.

And Adarabioyo will have a release clause come into play for a brief period at the start of the summer transfer window, with sources explaining to Football League World that West Ham have him on their radar.

“It’s now been explained to Football League World that for a very brief period at the start of the next transfer window, a release clause will come into play,” FLW states.

“West Ham are one club keeping tabs on Adarabioyo as they look to bolster their defensive ranks.”

With Angelo Ogbonna recovering from a serious ACL injury – and turning 34 in May – and Craig Dawson turning 32 the same month, West Ham do need to start thinking about their future defensive options.

Moyes wanted a defender in January but failed to make any signings.

Adarabioyo ticks all the boxes for Moyes’s recruitment philosophy in that he is young, strong, athletic, quick and will be hungry to prove himself at the top level.

If West Ham are involved in Europe again next season that could help lure the defender to east London too.
