Liverpool allegedly have no interest in signing Jarrod Bowen from West Ham United anymore, in what will be a big blow for the winger.

The Liverpool Echo claims that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has moved on from Bowen, after Mohamed Salah signed a new long-term deal with the club in the summer.

The 25-year-old attracted the attention of Klopp last season, when Salah’s future at Anfield was still up in the air (Liverpool Echo).

And high-profile pundit Paul Merson suggested at the time that Bowen would be a great signing for Liverpool.

Bowen has proven to be an absolutely brilliant signing for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium from Hull City back in January 2020 for around £18 million (The Daily Mail).

He bagged 18 goals and 13 assists in 51 games for West Ham last season (Transfermarkt). He also earned a call-up to the England national team and has bagged four caps for the Three Lions.

Bowen began the 2022/23 season in really poor form though. And as a result, it seems as though Liverpool are no longer keen to prise him way from the London Stadium…

Liverpool move on from West Ham ace Jarrod Bowen

The Liverpool Echo claims that Bowen is no longer on Klopp’s radar.

If we are being brutally honest, that really isn’t a surprise.

Bowen is a very good player, but is he good enough to be playing for a club like Liverpool? That is highly doubtful.

The 25-year-old has bagged just two goals and zero assists in 11 Premier League so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The ex-Hull City ace is clearly a hugely important player at the London Stadium. In fact, Michail Antonio suggested that Bowen is the best player in West Ham training.

There is an argument to be had that Jarrod Bowen has found his level at West Ham though.

He was recently dropped from the England national team squad by Gareth Southgate, and that would have been a huge blow to his confidence.

And Jurgen Klopp turning his attention elsewhere will be yet another kick in the teeth for the Hammers star.

All Jarrod Bowen can do now is focus on producing the goods for West Ham on a consistent basis and forcing his way back into the England team.

We still have faith that the 25-year-old is good enough to at least be involved with the squad, even if that means that he’s not a regular starter for the Three Lions.

However, playing for a club like Liverpool might just be one step too far for Bowen.
