Julen Lopetegui has made it very clear in no uncertain terms that West Ham need a specific signing in the January window.

Lopetegui is clinging on for dear life in his role as Hammers head coach right now.
And if we lose our next two games, he will most likely be moved on from the London Stadium.
Regardless of who is in charge of West Ham by the end of the month, we absolutely have to strengthen the squad.
It’s an incredibly unbalanced group right now, and that has to change.
Lopetegui is under no illusions that some strong business is needed, and he’s made that very clear to David Sullivan as well.

The Hammers boss has been speaking to the media this afternoon.
He discussed a variety of topics with reporters, including potential transfer business in January.
And Lopetegui pulled no punches when it comes to potential incomings, as quoted by WHUFC:
“We have lost two important forwards, but the Club knows our needs and will be working. We have to be focused on the next matches, because it’s going to be very demanding.“
“The Club is working to do this work, and we have to put our focus on being ready to compete in games.“
Sullivan has to take heed of those comments from Lopetegui.
With Michail Antonio set to be out of action for at least 12 months, and Jarrod Bowen sidelined as well, the Hammers have just Niclas Fullkrug and Danny Ings as centre-forward options.
We absolutely cannot afford to head into the second half of the season with our hopes pinned on those two.
The signing of a new striker will be pivotal to West Ham’s hopes of achieving success.
